How to order your Calendars

Captive Calendars will make a bespoke personalised calendar for you. Just follow the guidelines below and send us your order.

  • Send digital photos only, either direct from your digital camera or scanned from
    an original print.
  • All calendars come with a smart wire binder and hanging hook.
  • You choose the sequence of photos.
  • Place an order at any time of the year.

Ordering

Simply choose your product and go to the order page. Pictures can be sent via the online ordering page. This requires you to upload your pictures from your computer to the Captive Calendars server. Picture files can be quite large so this can take some time, it is therefore only recommended for people with a broadband internet connection. If you do not have a broadband internet connection or do not want to upload your images you can print an order form, burn your order form and pictures onto a CD and post it to us.

Artwork

Captive Calendars will print your pictures as you provide them. Try to send landscape photographs as these work best, portrait photographs will be cropped and fitted to page.

Captive Calendars will not undertake any photographic enhancement such as red eye, blemish or date/timestamp removal, unless by prior arrangement.

Unfortunately you cannot send original photographs to Captive Calendars for scanning. Please arrange to scan these yourselves and send the digital format.

How to prepare your photographs for ordering

Captive Calendars accept photographs in digital format only. If you are sending photographs taken using a digital camera ensure the image file is in jpeg (.jpg) format. Any picture taken on a 2 MegaPixel camera (or higher) at middle or high setting should be good enough.

The quality of a digital picture is measured by its file size and resolution measured in pixels. Most photo editing software products can be used to edit images. We recommend that photos are prepared at 72dpi resolution with a pixel size of 1280px by 960px.

If ordering a wall calendar you must send 13 pictures. One for the cover and one for each month. Please name your images according to the month you wish them to appear e.g. january.jpg, or fc.jpg for the front cover, all months typed in full in lower case characters.

If you are scanning your own photograph prints do so at a resolution of 150dpi, size them correctly and then save as a jpeg (.jpg).
